Suhas returns with Prasanna Vadanam, a thriller exploring the complexities of Prosopagnosia. Here’s our take on the movie.
Story:
Surya (Suhas), a Radio Jockey, struggles with Face Blindness, complicating his life when he witnesses a murder. With only a few aware of his condition, including his friend Vignesh (Harsha Chemudu) and lover Aadhya (Payal Radhakrishna), Surya’s journey takes a dark turn when he seeks help from ACP Vaidehi (Rashi Singh).
Plus Points:
Suhas delivers a standout performance, embodying the challenges of his character with finesse.
Rashi Singh impresses with her portrayal of a negative character, showcasing her versatility.
Payal Radhakrishna and Harsha Chemudu offer satisfactory performances, with Nitin Prasanna shining in his role.
The film presents unexpected twists and thrilling moments in the second half.
Minus Points:
Despite an intriguing premise, Prasanna Vadanam struggles to maintain a consistent pace, impacting its overall impact.
Rashi Singh’s character could have been better developed, with certain scenes lacking depth.
The romantic subplot feels out of place in a film aiming for a serious tone, and flashback sequences seem derivative.
Technical Aspects:
Director Arjun Y K shows promise but needs a tighter focus on the screenplay to enhance the film’s effectiveness.
Vijai Bulganin’s score complements key scenes, supported by satisfactory cinematography and editing. However, a shorter runtime could have improved the viewing experience.
Verdict:
Prasanna Vadanam offers a decent thriller experience, with standout performances from Suhas and Rashi Singh. While certain twists engage, pacing issues and unnecessary scenes may limit its appeal.
