Prathinidhi 2 Review: A Substandard Political Thriller Misses the Mark

Overview: “Prathinidhi 2,” featuring Nara Rohit and directed by Murthy Devagupthapu, has hit theaters with the promise of an engaging political narrative. However, the film fails to live up to expectations, resulting in a disappointing cinematic experience.

Synopsis: The story follows Chetan (Nara Rohit), a fearless journalist appointed as the CEO of NNC, a news channel aimed at exposing political corruption. As the plot unfolds, Chetan sets out to uncover the truth behind the assassination of CM Prajapathi (Sachin Khedekar). While the first half focuses on Chetan’s battle against political malpractices, the latter half delves into the investigation of the CM’s murder.

Pros and Cons: The first half of the film shines with its portrayal of political corruption and Rohit’s convincing performance as a determined journalist. Engaging dialogues and well-executed comedic moments add depth. However, the second half disappoints with its illogical and melodramatic approach to the investigation. The inclusion of commercial elements detracts from the film’s intended message, resulting in a lackluster narrative.

Technical Aspects: While the editing maintains a decent pace, Mahati Swara Sagar’s music fails to leave an impact, and Nani Chamidisetty’s cinematography lacks creativity. The director’s decision to include unrealistic sequences and subpar VFX work further diminishes the film’s quality.
