With the highly anticipated release of “Tillu Square” just around the corner, director Mallik Ram, the creative force behind the film, shared insights into the meticulous process that went into crafting the sequel to the cult hit “DJ Tillu.” In an exclusive interaction with the media, Mallik Ram delved into various aspects of the film’s production and his collaboration with the cast and crew.
Addressing the monumental task of living up to the success of the first installment, Mallik Ram revealed that the team dedicated approximately 600 days to develop the story for “Tillu Square.” Recognizing the unique charm of “DJ Tillu,” the director aimed to expand upon the original while ensuring the sequel stood on its own merits. With plans for an open-ended narrative and potential for a third installment, Mallik Ram hinted at the continuation of Tillu’s journey beyond “Tillu Square.”
Discussing the inclusion of pivotal characters from the first film, Mallik Ram teased the presence of the Radhika emotion in “Tillu Square.” Exploring new themes and challenges faced by Tillu, the director emphasized the film’s departure from the black comedy genre, aiming for a more universal and commercially appealing narrative.
Reflecting on the extended production timeline, Mallik Ram attributed the delay to the meticulous crafting of the narrative, particularly focusing on the crucial first 30 minutes post-interval. Despite facing challenges during initial shoots, the director remained steadfast in his commitment to delivering an entertaining experience for audiences.
Addressing casting choices, Mallik Ram shed light on the selection of Anupama Parameswaran for the leading role, emphasizing her talent and suitability for the character Lily.
